Last night, in an unexpected turn of events, my friend fell asleep driving, fresh off a night of catching water Pokemon at Huntington beach. It was unfortunate because I happened to be asleep as well, fresh off a long day of driving to San Diego and going all over the place. I’m going to blame this one less on Pokemon and more on being more aware of the state of the driver. Had the car been smaller, I would have very easily been dead.
And yet, I cheated death once more. The car crashed directly into a telephone pole, bringing the entire thing down, also hitting a fence and stopping dead in it’s tracks. A few more inches, and I could have very easily gotten impaled. The police soon came thereafter, made sure we were okay, and then told my friend to call his Triple A for towing. We later walked home discussing the potential ramifications and the “almost death” that just occurred.

This is literally the 4th time I have cheated death, and I hope I never get into these dangerous encounters ever again. The funny part is I feel fine and am not remotely injured at all.

From my previous accidents, I learned to drive much more cautiously. Now, based on this friend’s accident, I hope to be more cautious in knowing how tired the driver is at any given point in time to protect myself.
I’m thankful to be alive, and once again will continue living as best I can each and every day.
