The true test of faith, generosity, perseverance, determination, and trustworthiness was performed this week.

I’ve always been relatively open about my ever prolonged status in searching for a religion. Regardless of the one I end up with (whether it be more spiritual in nature or more cognizant) I shall always remain true to being tolerant and open to the faith that others belong to. Alethia is a strong representation of someone who is made a better person by her faith, and her moral values largely stem from her religious beliefs and practices. I strive to be as tolerant, compassionate, and loving as she is in her everyday affairs (and in her relationship with God).

At the same time I try to spread not only knowledge, but everything I can to the people around me. By consistently being there for others, and by finally setting out my task of buying all my family christmas presents this week, I was partially successful. Since I have met him George he has largely been one of the most sincere and generous people I have ever met – constantly driving me to volunteer events every week in high school (like a taxi driver somewhat).

Being the week after Thanksgiving Break, it required much of a push and perseverance to get through the week. I know with only two weeks left I will persevere in saving enough money for next semester by working an 11-hour workday for the next two weeks (as well as socializing and lesson planning on the weekends). Jessica has had many plights and problems in the past but she has persevered through all of them to become the great person she is today.

With perseverance, comes my determination to continue to grow in the classroom to become the best possible educator I can be. I will continue to strive for these goals and practice what Tyler does in his determination to live a life constantly full of challenges and new experiences that will ultimately make him a better person.

At the end of the day I want to also be grounded as an individual and be someone people can come to with problems. Being an open and welcoming person will allow my future students to perhaps come to me with their concerns, as well as any friends that need a listening ear. Many people come to Victoria because of their ability to trust her as a person (her trustworthiness obvious from the reality that she is easy to talk to, listens to your concerns, gives you advice, and holds all your secrets). Someday I hope to be as trustworthy as she is in my endeavors with friends, colleagues, and students.
