In achieving this week’s moral quest, it was appropriate to imitate Howard, Thiep, John Torres, & Karl successfully.

I’ve always wanted to be the kind of person that could set my own destiny in a way, and do so in a manner reflective of my ambitions in life. I am disciplined to an extent pushing to become a better person, and have disciplined myself to have an adequate balance of both work and fun. (Being a workaholic is not necessarily always a good thing). Howard embodies hard work and self-discipline as he strives to ultimately become the greatest doctor in America.

I have worked hard towards maintaining the friendships I’ve made over the years. It’s true that the friends you make in your 20’s are the ones you keep for life. I was able to spend the majority of my break hanging out with friends, specifically 22 of them. When thinking of friendship I always think of Thiep, one of my closest and oldest friends. I still remember that awkward day in 5th grade when I walked up to him and decided he was going to be my first Stanford Elementary friend (after embarrassingly being asked by Mrs. Demaria if I had made any yet).

John Torres is very loyal to all his non-earthly attachments such as Jeff Gordon, Pepsi, and Green Day. And yet, you can tell by just meeting him he’s loyal to all the people he holds deep and dear to his heart. I have maintained a sense of loyalty to who I am as an individual, as well as to the world around me. I will try to never let my friends down as I strive towards becoming a better person.

Respect is earned. I hope to gain the respect of my students by being nice to them and constantly pushing them to succeed. I maintain the same degree of respect to strangers and friends. When Karl tries, he is respectful to those around him to a very great extent.
