Week 4: Resolution

Every problem has a resolution. Every action deserves an ending. I for one absolutely hate starting a task, and not finishing it. In the back of my mind, that said “task” needs to be accomplished before I can move onto the next. That’s part of the reason why I hate starting an essay and not finishing it, or starting a television series and not “catching up”. It just leaves in the back of my mind a void that ultimately needs to be filled up.

Tedious Tasks

It starts with the tedious tasks that are always there to be accomplished, but I never remember to do it.

These tedious tasks include:

1) Getting caught on various television series (i.e. Once Upon a Time and How I Met Your Mother

2) Paying off my library card debt (a whopping 4 dollars)

3) Paying off my Credit Card Debt (which I try to do every week, to avoid ever getting charged those pesky interest rates)

4) Remembering to exercise (going running, at least once or twice a week).

5) And that damn GPS button. The button that turns on my GPS fell off, so every time I turn it on I have to use either a pen or something really pointy to turn it on. I decided to resolve the issue this week through the magic of tape (and we know before tape can do wonders for fixing things, including cars apparently). Here’s a pic:

Life-Changing Tasks

Life-changing might be a hyperbole, but these were the tasks I did this week to prepare myself for the future (i.e. Career & school wise)

1) Acquiring 2 Letters of recommendations from professors for Cal State Fullerton’s teaching program. And one more future one from my boss at Loara High School. >:)

2) Filling out my Fafsa for next year

3) This might not necessarily be life-changing, but due to another supervisor at the Anaheim YMCA requesting me at their school (Katella high school), and my boss getting pressure from his supervisor to transfer me, I will be transferring schools sometime next week in my employment with the Anaheim Family YMCA. It’s a bit sad, and I’ve already grown attached to the students, but I guess me moving is all a part of my destiny so I should prepare for the day that it happens. I try to remind myself after all what this little piece of advice below tells me:

004“Everything you’ve ever done, every person you’ve ever met, every experience you’ve ever had is a part of who you are today. Everything needed to be as it was, otherwise you wouldn’t have grown into you.”

Resolving the Future

If we look at my calendar, we can see all the other things resolved this week (the finishing of 2 books, somewhat conquering a fear of roller coasters, and finally getting rid of the $25 Microsoft Store Gift Card.

week4

Look closer and you can see several issues that still need to be resolved in my life, i.e. figuring out my Parking Permit situation (if it will come in the mail sooner rather than later), figuring out the EDSC410 class time (because the Syllabus conflicts with the Port Titan time), ensuring I re-acquaint myself with the friends I have lost touch with, and of course ensuring a Rand Paul presidency in 2016.

The End Result: I learned that the cluttering of problems in your head does not make for a self-sustaining lifestyle. Instead, to free my inner demons, I needed to resolve as many problems as possible in the limited time frame that I had. Resolving all my issues will allow me more time to resolve other issues with friends, loved ones, and inevitably expand my horizon. I hope to carry into the rest of the year the continuous notion not to leave problems dangling either on or beneath the surface. I finally give myself an A for the week.

Next Week: Frugality. Make no Expense but to do good to others or yourself: i.e. Waste nothing.
