There’s quite a bit of a disconnect between our usage of both writing devices within the world. As we spent our lives indulging in elementary school, middle school, and high school activities we were frequently taught that the pencil was the instrument of power. But as we got to college, professors alike began acclaiming the pen as the primary writing device by which to inflict their eyes on. So what really is the better of the two evils? This post will ultimately tackle that fundamental question.
Part 1: Durability
Pencils and Pens alike have to be bought in larger volumes due to their ability to quickly disintegrate. While pens for the most part can be used until the ink eventually runs out, pencils have to be sharpened every now and then to maintain their sharp edges. Subsequently, pens would win the round in terms of convenience of use to the American public. Pens also have caps which allows them to quickly be durable against attacks from the general public.

Part 2: Everybody makes Mistakes
Every now and then we engage in functional errors in the usage of both devices. While the ink from pens have to either be crossed out or fixed using the powers of white-out, pencils commonly have erasers attached to the bottom of them for correctional purposes. Subsequently, pencils win the arena of eliminating faulty errors within one’s life.

Part 3: Accessories
Accessories fundamentally shape the ability of us to use subsequent devices. Pencils need pencil sharpeners to function, and erasers for mistake correcting. Pens on the other hand usually only need white out (but only every once a blue moon). However, because of the ability of mechanical pencils to process the power of “LEAD” successfully, pencils clearly win this category.

Part 4: Beauty
What clearly looks better to the naked eye? When we are kids, pencils are easily seen, but as we grow older pencils become so light to the naked eye that old cranky professors demand all work be turned in using ink. Pens produce a darker output and subsequently are more easily seen by all members of society. Not to mention the fact that they can come out in multiple colors – from blue, to black, to red, to even purple. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.

Part 5: But…
But the winner of this challenge will definitely be…. PENS. Due to the ability of all of us to easily customize pens on the Internet (as well as order them) [Phil’s BBQ Pens], and the fact that they subsequently last longer (with ink refills and such), pens are the clear winner of this showdown. Also because of THIS WEBSITE .

I feel like mechanical pencils and regular wooden pencils should have been separated /: And hey, pencils come in colors too! LOL.
In high school, I was a pencil girl. I actually thought pens were too restricting. In college, I only use pens and find pencils childish. Weird.
Also, is that the website PAW got our pens from? Thanks for the website, custom pens will make great gag gifts haha
