From Monday 6/21 to Thursday 6/24 I have engaged in actively a “Nacurh 2010” National conference. I was pleasantly surprised by all the nice, friendly, and amazing people from various universities all over the country I met during the week! I was also extremely happy with the UCSD Delegation. Everybody was chill, and we engaged in various activities throughout the entire course of the week.

I love the clothespins I collected from various universities during the conference. I also got “free” shirts for NACURH, PACURH, various swap-shop trades with various schools, as well as a “Legends of the Hidden Temple” Shirt, although I never really watched it as a kid because I didn’t have cable… Poor me…. As far as the living quarters goes, we stayed in Marshall Res Hall P. YES!! A Residence Hall…. I felt like a freshman again living in a freshman suite, continuously going up and down from suite to suite (guy’s on top, girl’s on bottom)

My favorite session would have to be “attraction secrets”. Ryan Clauson was extremely hilarious in giving out advice to “woo” members of the opposite gender. The other programs were good too, so I guess I’ll use their ideas in ICRA next year, potentially…

I “rode the pony” for the first time. Having never done it at orientation, it was a good experience… not to mention extremely random. Volunteering at the beach for the philanthropy project entailed walking to the beach for 20 minutes, pulling weeds and talking about “hoes” for 10 minutes, and walking back for the last 20 minutes.

As far as the food went, it was decent. I didn’t really enjoy the vegetarian meat though… that was a little strange. But other than that, everything else was good. But I think I got sick Wednesday night… but that could be because of the Dance.

Hospitality rooms were chill, I still hate dances as usual, and I still love the song “Don’t Stop Believing”. I swear, I was singing that song from day 1, and then on Wednesday it plays before the closing ceremonies and during the dance and everybody sings along. Also, I wore a Glee shirt on Wednesday and some random stranger wanted to take a picture with me. It was quite cute, and I was pleasantly surprised to be somewhat of a celebrity.

Anyway, it was excellent, and I now know what NACURH, PACURH, and all that good stuff is (maybe it’ll help me for next year, I doubt it). Thanks for the Nacurh staff @ UCSD for hosting such an awesome conference. Last, and not least, a shout out to all the delegates!

Andrea & Francisco: Thanks for being wonderful advisers, following us around, and giving us advice and actively engaging in the conference with us.
Jaclyn: For being a great NCC, and enthusiastic, even though you were sleep deprived. Good luck in Arizona, and hopefully we cross paths again someday!
Christopher Nguyen: Sucks that you have to leave UCSD, you were truly a very hilarious guy. “For shiz, my niz”., and your insults to Bee John were pretty funny too! Keep in touch online if anything!
Bee John: You’re pretty chill too, although a little quiet. It’s funny how you play WoW and are somewhat crippled. Hopefully your leg gets better in time for Exec board training next year.
Amber: You’re very fun and chill too, and you love glee which makes you more amazing. Thanks for joining us when you can, and I’ll see you in NRHH next year. PS: Join ICRA.
Amul: NCC to be! Thanks for being a good roommate and waking me up when necessary. Better get used to it.
Rashika: You’re awesome. Though you couldn’t join us for philanthropy one day, you threw us as I almost did on Wednesday night. See you in a few months.
Cindy: Thanks for insulting me every chance that you could. And joining in our “Glee” obsession and talking about Toy Story 3, AMAZING movie! have a good summer, see you next year.
Lauren: As usual, you’re a good friend, and we’ll continue to go to Phil’s next year because of it!
