Continuing with the theme of love songs this week, I chose a song that places an emphasis on THE PAST. Today’s song reminds me of my first ex (Sophie) in a high school relationship that didn’t last that long. However, for a brief time period the dopamine inside of me came out me and made me feel a high.
At about the same time, David Cook performed an extraordinary song on American Idol that only helped to amplify and capture my feelings at the time, so much so that I remember posting it as a Facebook or “Myspace” status back in the day.
And though it ended, the memories stick with you no matter what, even as I was shopping for hundreds of glow sticks at the 99 cent store today. I’m going to sell them Thursday at the Valentine’s Day to try to raise some funds for the Boy’s Soccer team.

Passing through the Valentine’s Day merchandise, I couldn’t help but feel nostalgic for the lyrics of David Cook and my failed, but first high school relationship.
And we’ll linger on (we will linger on….)
Time can’t erase a feeling this strong
No way you’re never gonna shake me
Ooh darling cause you’ll always be my baby
