It’s the season finale of summer adventures of Kai. An intense 11 weeks coupled with routines, and a bit of a transitional state as Kai becomes more and more aware of his surroundings (and more feisty as a direct result). Though it’s a bit bittersweet the summer is coming to an end, it’ll be nice to have a bit of a “break” from full-time 24/7 father duties.
This week also gave me the opportunities to finalize some much need errands, including of course receiving my dreaded blood test results. Needless to say, my glucose and cholesterol levels are through the roof, and my doctor suggested dieting to try to reduce the results (even though I think it’s mostly genetic). I will still give it a full effort though because I no longer need to be healthy/alive for just myself and Katherine, but I need to be so for the longevity of Kai’s life. Though I obviously want to live as long as my parents, I want to at least be able to provide for Kai until he turns 18 or until the outstanding debts (mostly the house mortgage) is fully paid off. Till then I need to ensure I am health conscious to maximize the amount of quality time I can spend with Kai as he continues to transition into the various stages of life.
Until then, of course, this week involved:
The final week of marinating in bed with Kai before waking up
One final trip to Urgent Care (luckily everything is ok!)
The final week rocking Kai with bad singing to sleep 2-3 times a week, depending on how many naps he takes
The final week of following Kai around to ensure he is well fed
The final week of facetiming Mommy at work
The final week of running to the bathroom when Kai is not looking
The final week of hearing random giggles and cries from every corner of the house
The final week of going to Grandma’s for random adventures
The final week of playing vinyls for Kai to listen to
The final week of seeing Kai walk all over the house, and stumbling occassionally.
The final week of random adventures with friends coming over
The final week of Kai impressing friends in public but being the opposite at home
The final week of guessing his every needs every second of the day
And finally, one final field trip to an indoor playground @ The Source. Needless to say, he had a blast!
Till Thanksgiving Break, you’re going to have to carry out without your father, at least on weekdays until 4pm of course.
