Now that we’ve settled into a little bit of a groove and Kai has a slightly more predictable sleeping pattern, I’ve taken the necessary step to resume exercise.
And personally, I feel a lot better in doing so.
I tried at first to run after he fell asleep at around 8:30. Unfortunately, this created an overstimulation effect where I was unable to sleep the rest of the night due to the adrenaline.
So now, alternatively, I have woken up at 6am before work in order to run for at least 30 minutes. Though it is tiring (and cold) at first, it makes me a bit more alert later in the day.
The only downside is of course I am running within the confines of the townhouse complex, which is a bit limited in space. But it’s close enough so I can come home if Kai needs me, so it is the best option for the time being.
Not sure if I’ll be able to maintain this routine forever, but it’s worth trying.
