Halloween Costumes

As a young child, I never dressed up for Halloween, mostly because we were poor growing up. When my sisters and I went trick or treating, we encountered some pretty mean people who didn’t want to give us candy because we weren’t in costumes. How saddening.

As an adult, I’ve dressed up in more costumes than not over the years. Here are some of my most recent costumes.

1. Today, I dressed up as a Phil’s BBQ employee. It’s a pretty easy thing to do, but of course I wish I had an apron. The students could figure out who I was, but only because I bring up Phil’s BBQ so often it is intertwined with my personality.

2. I have dressed up of course as Captain America in the past, representing my favorite country. Here’s a picture of me blowing out birthday candles.

3. I always wanted to be a Power Ranger growing up, so of course I was bound to eventually dress up as one.

4. I dressed up as Pikachu and made my students call me Pika-tran one year. It was fun because we went to Knott’s Berry Farm in the appropriate attire.

5. Here’s a picture of me as the Beast from Beauty and the Beast. Most people were unable to figure it out at first glance, probably because I was so handsome.

6. Finally, here’s Katherine and I in our Squid game attire, trying to kill each other for the million dollar prize.

Needless to say I imagine we’ll dress up in more costumes in the future, and will hopefully go trick or treating again someday with children – either our own, or other people’s.
