A Fairmont Legacy

As the unique June Gloom strikes us this month, memories of the wonderful moments I shared at Fairmont Summer programs under the amazing leadership of Karen Saturday come flooding back to me.

Although I still reminisce about those days, I can’t help but feel like I’ve outgrown the camp counselor scene. Hanging out with a group of high school graduates and college students would make me feel out of place at this point in my life. However, the countless memories I have of the exciting field trips we took and the valuable lessons I learned about managing elementary school students will always be with me.

Despite the fact that I’ve lost touch with Noelle and Editha, two amazing people I met during our summer adventures, I’m happy to have crossed paths with them. Even though they took different paths, one becoming an educator and the other venturing far away from the field, they will always be remembered as excellent camp counselors and representatives of Fairmont.

I’ll always cherish the memories of singing on the bus during field trips, saying “Ni Hao” to all the Asian students at Fairmont, and doing the double dab.. These experiences were truly unforgettable, and I will always hold them close to my heart wherever I go next.
