Sorrow and Sadness

What brings sadness to the lives of others?
Is it rooted in poverty or trauma from persecution?

Is it something caused by others or a monologue in our heads?

What brings sadness to the lives of kids?
Is it not getting the toys you want or things your way?
Is it being picked on or teased for being different?
Is it from adult misconduct or parental neglect?

What brings sadness to the lives of teens?
Is it social media and the constant need for validation?
Is it inauthentic friendships or a need to find a clique?
Is it from school, past relationships, or broken homes?

What brings sorrow to the lives of adults?
Is it the declining amount of friendships people have as they get older?
Is it the loneliness that stems from an inability to find love?
Is it a thought that we have never ever been loved by anyone?

What if we can do our part to change things by making others happy?
What if we could offer small joy through a wave, a greeting, or a hug?
We have the ability to help spread joy to the world, one person at a time.
