A new year. A new me. That’s what everybody says on the first day of the year.

I’m going to go on a limb and change the phrase a little.

A new decade. A new me. A new vision for 2020.

In this case, I will be pursuing this blog’s project. And just in time for 2020, comes Project Vision.

The goal of the project? To create new experiences in 2020. To see new places, live new experiences, and broaden my horizons. This also includes looking at things I’ve previously done in the past in a new way, in order to become a more well-rounded individual.

For starters, today is the first day of the year, which included a nice visit to the gym. I used to think that the gym was for jocks and people who wanted to get muscles and look like gym rats. But in this case, I’m seeing the gym with a new set of peripheral eyes, to use the gym as a mechanism to stay fit, and in shape, and perhaps change my sugar and cholesterol intake for the rest of my life.

It was surprisingly empty for the first day of the year for a gym. But it is Planet Fitness. I plan to go 4-5 times a week this year, and not just on the days they have pizza (the first Monday of every month).

In trying to become a better person, my goals in 2020 are to create a healthier version of myself, secure a teaching position, and become a star.

My definition of a star is of course not to become a celebrity, but somebody I would want my children to be proud of in the future.

Here’s to continuing to evolve. Maybe this will be the year where this Charmander evolves into a Charizard.
