Enrico Cosinas is quite a unique creature to have come to Rise Kohyang Middle School. He was pretty quiet last year, and so I didn’t really know him or care for him much, but this year our friendship has gravitated to new heights, as we have agreed to be each other groomsmen for our future weddings. I think he’s definitely getting the short end of the stick though because I don’t foresee marriage in the picture anytime soon for me.
Anyway, we have had many discussions in the past, and I once asked him what his favorite restaurant was – aka his Phil’s BBQ. I’m sure he’s answered numerous times, but I just tuned him out and didn’t really listen to his answer at all.
And yet, it is much appreciated how much we see eye to eye on the daily happenings at our school. We went to Howling Ray’s, a fried chicken location, which happens to be his favorite.
I would say… it’s pretty stellar, and probably the best fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life. I got the chicken sandwich, which was miles better than any piece of chicken I’ve ever tasted in my life. I know that is blasphemy to my former employer Popeyes. As a Filipino I’m sure that is blasphemy to Jollibee for him.
I’m grateful for our conversations and I’m sure as the year continues to drag on, we will have many more to come, especially if we happen to switch grade levels next year ;).
