Some exciting updates.
We got tickets to the Pokemon Night Out celebration. Which is essentially a light-EDM concert (since it’s Marshmello headlining), celebrating the 30th anniversary of Pokemon with what I imagine will be mostly Pokemon graphics in the background. Super expensive, but I could always resell them if plans change and we’d rather stay home with Kai.
I got accepted to UCI’s summer fellowship for teaching the Declaration of Independence at 250 years. Normally I would balk at doing PD over the summer, but the extra money will be worth it to use on Kai. Plus – what better way is there to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary than studying one of the most important historical documents at all time? Maybe I’ll find a way to embed it thematically in my IB class next year.
And of course, the most important anniversary is coming up – Kai’s 1st birthday, coming on May 13th, a day I will actually take off from work (yes, shocker).
