It was Kai’s first Valentine’s Day. He was supposed to be left elsewhere for us to enjoy a romantic adventure alone, but plans fell through, so we had to take him with us on our Valentine’s Day lunch at Nova Kitchen.
Luckily, he was on his best behavior. And for once, was able to fall asleep to the ambience of the restaurant. The darkness ended up working out for us as we were able to rock him smoothly back and forth on his stroller. I love restaurants that allow strollers (I’m looking at you Cheesecake Factory.)
I guess it ends up being a good thing, because we do want him to have more practice behaving appropriately at restaurants so we can continue go on food adventures in the future.
In the end, I hope he doesn’t spend too many Valentine’s Day alone. I know that holiday brings back lots of sad memories of loneliness, mostly in high school, college, and adulthood. Luckily he has parents that will love him no matter what. He probably shouldn’t date till he’s in medical, law, or engineering school anyway.
