Part of the American dream entails eventually buying a house when one is an adult. Sadly, this dream is seemingly being taken away in a gradual process, due to the lack of inventory, and rising prices, especially in highly desirable areas in the state of California.
That being said, we tried as prospective future homebuyers to go to a homebuyer workshop at Pacific High School. What we got wasn’t exactly what was advertised – but instead more information about a specific program (CalHFA), rather than the tips and tricks needed to be successful in the market.
Still, it put on my immediate radar that one of my life goals remains to buy a future home with Katherine. Though that probably won’t happen anytime soon, it’s important to start figuring out how to plan that future together. I’m hopeful that there will be a market correction soon or somehow an increase in inventory will allow more prospective homebuyers to make their dreams a reality.
