There’s an interesting phenomenon in the real world that occurs, that has happened to me in various settings throughout the years. Namely, the more competent a person is at their job, the more responsibilities that get piled onto their plate, whether advertently or not. Needless to say, I was placed as the head of the Awards and Celebration Commitee. After ordering the certificates from graphic arts, I wisely used my Builder’s Club to help sort them out. Since I already advise the Builder’s Club voluntarily anyway without getting paid, it’s nice for them to do some of my job duties for me.

Of course, there are plenty of great things I do for the school that I do get paid for, fortunately – namely the Five Star Program, the marquee and website, and the Civic Engagement team in the form of the Dale Senate. Also EL Task monitoring, and tutoring for SWD students, as well as some Saturday Academies whenever I choose to come in. This is all in addition to co-teaching at the moment, and writing IEPS for students with special needs.
While I contemplate the possibility of assuming leadership roles in the future, I find it challenging to compel individuals to perform tasks against their will. Thus, I can’t envision myself in an administrative position quite yet. Nevertheless, I reckon that when the principal or assistant principal entrusts me with a task, it signifies a high degree of trust in my abilities to ensure its successful completion.
I’m about to add on coaching for a chance to getting a contract and extra pay 🤧
