Dear Public,
You might think that the food court in Costco is no big deal but it is one of the most remarkable innovations ever created in the history of mankind.
Recently you’ve seen on the news that inflation is a huge problem plaguing the lives of everyday Americans. With rising gas prices and occasional food shortages (such as eggs most recently), it is no surprise that the costs of food and living are increasing at a substantial rate – definitely not proportional with wages. You can see it in the cost of groceries, and how the prices of your favorite restaurant have gone up within the last 2 years.
That being said, the Costco food court remains a staple of the American diet, and an intriguing solution to one of these everyday problems. As costs continue to rise everywhere else, the price of food in the Costco food court remains stagnant. Despite the removal of the popular “Supreme Pizza” choice, the cost for a whole Pepperoni or Cheese pizza remains 9.99 at Costco. Other popular items like the hot dog/drink combo and the chicken bake remain the same price for consumers. We are living in a world where it is important to recognize and appreciate the greatness that the Costco Food Court presents to all families in the United States with its affordability and consistency post-pandemic.
Sincerely,
John Tran
