It’s surprising how much being in a familiar setting can trigger a whole set of memories. As I embarked upon a school bus today for yet another Ropes Course Field trip (this time for Avid students), a scene of flashbacks popped in my head of all the other bus rides I’ve ever had on that big yellow vehicle.

For me, the memories came popping in my head of all the field trips I’ve been on in the years. From elementary trips to Crystal Cove and Dana Point, to some memories chaperoning trips for Fairmont summer programs (Knott’s Berry Farm, Acquarium of the Pacific, and Camelot just to name a few), and even more memories on buses for Bright Star Schools (beach trips and America’s Got Talent TV Tapings just to name a few) , I’ve seldom had negative experiences on this vehicle.
I foresee if I continue working in educaiton for the years to come I’ll be seeing and hugging much more of these things in the future. Here’s to more successful trips, and an eventual trip to tenure and retirement.
