Looking back, I recall the first and only time I attempted a half marathon. I dedicated months to training and eventually reached the point where I could run 10 miles non-stop. However, my training sessions were always at night, and I followed the same routes repeatedly. This turned out to be a problem during the actual race in Huntington Beach, as I wasn’t familiar with the path. I’m convinced that if I had practiced on the exact course, my performance would have been better. Despite this, the experience was unforgettable, especially because I got to run alongside my dear friend Enchilada and my favorite teacher of the year. This teacher even succeeded me as the grade level chair when I left Rise Kohyang Middle School.
