Another year is about to end, and thus opportunity is provided for me to reflect on the key highlights of the year.
I failed all 4 of my New Years Resolutions – drinking alcohol, drinking boba, not finishing a book every week, and of course failing my blog by only getting to day 303. That being said, sometimes life just happens, and I won’t be too disappointed in myself given the life circumstances that prevented me from completing my project.
Healthwise, I continue to exercise 2-3 times a week in the form of running. I am seeking to reduce consumption of glucose and cholesterol given the results of my recent blood test, and will seek to continue that into the next year.
Socially, I spent 2019 improving existing relationships with former and current friends from high school, UCSD, CSUF, previous places of employment, and Anime Expo. One key highlight of course was Anime Expo 2019 and increasing my Phil’s BBQ count (currently at 168 as of this post).

Professionally, I seek to have taken a step backwards by going from a full time teacher with my own classroom to becoming a substitute teacher. Although this is definitely going backwards, I feel like the experiences I make in Orange County will hopefully transform into me getting a job here. To be honest my heart was never in Los Angeles, and I hope the memories and experiences I’ve made there shape my future experiences moving forward. By far my favorite memory of the year in the field of teaching was taking 100+ students to Phil’s BBQ, which I will never forget.

Romantically, I am very happy with a relationship recently started this year, and I hope our continued experiences together will be just as magical as the cruise we went on this past weekend.

2019 was a mixed bag overall, but I’m hoping with 2020 I will be able to make up for career missteps, improve my romantic and platonic relationships this year, and continue to grow into the best possible version of myself.
End of decade reflection coming soon.
