Today I attended the most exciting conference in the entire history of my existence, none other than the Anime Expo’s Manager retreat.
What could be more fun than watching a series of powerpoints all day explaining different aspects of the convention from marketing and finance to active shooter trainings?
Anyway, the highlight of the whole convention happened to be dinner, where we were bused all the way over to Saffron Grill for some delicious Persian food. It was there that I had the chance to talk to my favorite manager Carolina Medrano.
Earlier that day some of our fellow assistant managers got stuck in an elevator. That never happened to Carolina; however, she did recall a story that involved getting stuck in the snow during a trip to Big Bear that involved having to replace tires, get tire chains, push a car in the snow, and look for keys in the dark. How exciting. Almost as exciting as the Anime Expo 2019 Manager’s Retreat though. I’m glad we have such a fearless leader that is able to overcome such difficult challenges in her past that has ultimately prepared her for the challenge that is running the registration department of Anime Expo, which in a way is similar to being stuck in a snowstorm.
Anyway, I’m glad she is my manager because if there was anyone else in charge, I would probably be dead. The end.
