Spring is in the air, and with the coming of a new season, comes new blog posts. Every “new experience” I have this season I will post. For the past two days, me and my history department have gone to professional development. In the process we have learned new reading and writing strategies. Even though the presentation itself was a little dry, it’s always a good time around these two boys, one of which will be sadly departing us next year.

Even though we don’t always take things too seriously, when it comes down to it we can be professional and have simulating conversations.

One of the nice “writing strategies” icebreakers introduced to us was one where we created a list of topics we were “experts” on. Then, strangers would star what they wanted to learn more about. Here’s my list:

Since it fits into this blog post, I will go ahead and type up my “How to get into car accidents” icebreaker writing (unedited).

There are many easy ways to get into a car accident.

Having been involved in many both directly and indirectly I can say I am an expert on the subject matter.

One time, a car hit into my rear bumper. To let that happen, you simply have to drive slow or fast but brake suddenly.

When I moved from Orange County to Las Vegas my head gasket blew up due to overheating. Don’t do routine checkups if you want this to happen to you.

After a long distance breakup I accidentally ran a red light and t-boned a car. Advice: don’t drive while emotional.

When moving to Los Angeles I ran a yellow light and a car bumped into me. Though it wasn’t my fault, you can have this happen to you pretty easily in Los Angeles.

On a few occasions I was merely a passenger. As a car changed lanes on the freeway, my friend swerved to the left causing his car to spin out of control on the freeway and slam on the barricade divider. You too can do this by freaking out on the freeway.

As a passenger I fell asleep once and my friend crashed into a telephone pole, which could have electrocuted us. Apparently my friend fell asleep at the wheel too. Life lesson: get better friends.
