Social media keeps transforming itself. I wished I could have archived all of my previous AIM (Aol Instant Messenger) conversations from middle and high school. Before texting and Instagram/Snapchat/Facebook Messenger, there was AIM.

With the death of AIM, it makes me sad and nostalgic. But clearly – social media will keep changing, and the younglins’ will always flock to what is hip and popular.
I’ll never forget Myspace either, the first “popular” social media network. I remember in high school I deleted it every time I felt super lonely or depressed. As connecting as social media can be, it can also make you feel inadequate when your life is being compared to the life of others.

That being said, it doesn’t really matter because those are all first world problems anyway. How ironic is it that we can seemingly feel less connected with all of these social media apps than a starving village in Africa?
In a tangent I recovered an old picture from my Senior year of high school, which sadly enough, shows my extended jeans that were way too long for me.

Look at those jeans. Yuck. This is the class I cried in in high school.
