Day 11: Top 5 TV Shows of 2017

Growing up, I used to watch a lot more television. Especially as it aired. As the Internet grew and streaming services quickly overtook the television networks as the primarily source of television consumption, my tastes had to change. Subsequently, here are my favorite television shows I enjoyed this year!

  1. Mr. Robot: After a slow and disjointed second season, this third season renewed my faith in the show, the fifth episode being one of the most suspenseful episodes of television I have ever watched in my life.
  2. Black Mirror:  The show just helps to redefine perceptions of the world and where technology is headed. San Junipero remains a hint of optimism on how technology can help benefit us in the future.
  3. Game of Thrones: This season felt like a Sparknotes version of the show, and super rushed, but I am very entertained by the characters coming together and the pieces all starting to finally come together. Anxiously awaiting the finale.
  4. 13 Reasons Why: It’s sappy. It’s petty. It’s kind of stupid, but I love it. Hannah Baker will forever be my hero, and be the source of many jokes for years to come.
  5. House of Cards: I’m not too sure how this show will do with Kevin Spacey gone, but this year’s season was pretty entertaining, especially since it had to be more bizarre than the presidential election we just had.

PS: 24 Legacy sucked, and I hope the next 24 revival will renew my hope in the show.
