Day 26: The Road Not Taken

My english teacher in high school claimed Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken” was not about anti-conformity. To that, I say, the interpretation of any text is open, and should be flexible depending on who is reading it. Therefore, I say it is most definitely about anti-conformity.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I – I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

It’s always the person that does something “different” and thinks outside the box that is successful. I’m hoping I can eventually step outside of the box and fulfill my full potential in life. Not sure what that will ultimately entail.

Anyway, to summarize today, we had the second day of class, which was pretty stellar, I suppose, and then we had a 3-hour staff meeting. It was mostly a bore, but we did get to play some Jeopardy, which was fun. My team won this time, without even having to resort to cheating.

Perhaps the best advice to take from any given situation is to conform in a certain way, but also to try to approach problems differently. I’m hoping I can take that approach in the future if anything negative arises.
