Day 19: Santa Ana

Looks like I’m back in America for the rest of the summer. Anyway, I largely picked off where I left off before I departed – with a quick trip to the gym in the morning, followed by consumption of a Vietnamese Street sandwich. Still superior than a French baguette though, which is way too hard.

I went to go to see Spider Man: Homecoming with my nieces and nephew, which was an okay movie. I feel like I’m very super-heroed out, but I do need to see Apes & Dunkirk next. There was a lot of unrealistic diversity in that movie as well, which kind of made it dumb. What happened to movies only having white people?!?!?! Those were the days.

I did some coursework while at home for my Master’s. I’m finally on my last class, which will be completed in about roughly 4 weeks. Then, a pay raise will ensue, which for a teacher, isn’t very much. Better than bumming on the streets….. I guess.

I caught up with some co-workers at dinnertime in the form of Brodard’s. We had Vietnamese spring rolls and I had some Vermicelli noodles. It was good. We had a conversation about marriage, and they told me about the downsides of it. I won’t be too sad if I end up never getting married, or better yet, divorced. I see so many couples or unhappy marriages, it’s hard to even fathom “happily ever after” realistically existing. Anyway, they’re both going to give birth soon, which is cool. They get to “experience the joy of childbirth”. What a lucky gender.

We had dessert in Santa Ana, which I like to call Stabba Ana actually for its high crime rate. We went to Cauldron, an ice cream destination. It was liquid nitrogen, and very much in the same style as Creamistry. I didn’t get food poisoning so I imagine it was decent.

With the end of that story comes another. 7 more cities to go.
