Day 10: The Listening

Today, lots of listening occurred, as I lectured students to make sure they got back to the meeting spot at Knott’s Berry Farm at 1:30 PM. Or Else. Of course, some kids obviously came late, but that’s besides the point.

Us teachers went off, and had our own fun, which included the following pictures:

In addition to the fake interactions you see above, we also ate (delicious BBQ, a two-year tradition now), went on Bumper Cars (I’m a terrible driver in all scenario), and got soaked on Big Foot Rapids. I will always love that ride forever and will never forget the time I went in Junior Year of high school 20 times with a couple friends from my Choir Class.

Anyway, some more listening activities ensued, and I realized upon watching two of my coworker’s Master’s Inquiry Presentations that I am a terrible student. Whereas I was focused and able to pay attention coherently in middle school and high school, my attention span has diminished dramatically, so I can now relate to the experiences of my students who can’t focus in class. I will still punish them for doing so though.

Anyway, shout-out to these two wonderful girls for completing their programs. 1 year of teaching down. 29 to go to secure the coveted Teacher’s Retirement Pension!
