Day 10: The Simpsons Movie

I don’t have many comedies on my list of favorite movies. Maybe it’s because I’m such a cynical person. However, there are some movies that will always make me laugh, one of which being the Simpsons Movie. And though the show has gone way downhill since it’s first 10 seasons, the movie brought back all the original writers for what I would call a pretty good movie. If it were up to me I’d have them stop making episodes and start making more movies, to help capture the family aspect of the tone more often in place of their current style which is endless, but emotionless humor.

Anyway, laughter is the common medicine that keeps us all alive. I often have fun volunteering with students because they know how to laugh at themselves, and we subsequently did so for the Angelman walk today.

Here’s to hoping the club lasts on longer after I’m gone. My goal is to leave my students at least somewhat more aware of how to help the world after I leave, and to focus on initiatives that will allow that to happen in the future. So many “keyboard warriors” complain about the state of affairs in the world today, but never bother to follow through helping others to make a more direct contribution to the world.

Afterwards I went to my former coworker’s place and we chilled for a while before going to a comedy show at the Comedy Store. It was hilarious (some of the acts at least), and the best part was that it was free.

Minus the 2 drink minimum of course….
