Day 3: What We Live For

What is the point of living? I don’t think as humans we will ever be able to collectively decide the total purpose of our existence as a species. I do think most of human existence should comprise of less time worrying about what life is for, and living for the singular purpose of enjoying your time while you’re here.

What I lived for today specifically was enjoying free museum day in Los Angeles seeing some fossil remains at the La Brea Tar Pits. I could only imagine the animals, including the extinct Wooly Mammoth never wasted time thinking about the purpose of living, but enjoyed their time mostly grazing in the ice age.

We attempted to visit the automobile musuem too, but they ran out of tickets. We also made a push to go to the Musuem of Tolerance, but upon seeing the ginormous line, decided to refrain.

After a lunch at Shake Shack (which was overrated), we had a brief reading session at Barnes and Nobles. I read some interesting self-help books, which gives me interesting perspectives on how other people perceive happiness and the purposes of living.

After exploring Santa Monica for a bit we went to Westwood for some Diddy Reese (which was okay, but super cheap), and Pieology (still not the best create-your-own-pizza place).

Anyway, it was a decent day, but I hope to be able to fully recover in time for work tomorrow.

You can take me anywhere the wind blows
Right into the great unknown
