As my lovely students were testing today, an impromptu meeting came to completely sell to the 8th graders to convince them to sign up for Rise Kohyang High School. It seemed to have worked for the most part, as many of them started wearing the t-shirts by the end of the day.
We also had our first Quizbowl for the year, which was pretty fun. Duke beat USC by a whole lot of points!
After school, we had the most wonderful of times possible at the Rise holiday party. We even got $5000 bonuses. Just kidding. We did get a decent meal though, my jerk chicken (as pictured below), which I didn’t share with anyone even after offering to do so.
Look at the lovely amount of deep love we have for one another, reflected best in this lovely image of two wonderful co-workers giving each other a warm hug after getting the best gifts of their lives.
And I felt like I won the lottery when I won the raffle…. ultimately winning… A POPCORN MACHINE! Which I will use for my “Netflix” session with a student next week (a prize raffled off at the student auction earlier this week).
We also got a wonderful scarf with the “Bright Star” logo heavily embedded within it. It was cool, for a scarf.
