Day 275: Who I Am Hates Who I’ve Been

Today was another typical day at Rise, other than the fact that one of my favorite Technology teachers is now leaving. With one week to go before his departure, I will truly miss the persona he brought to his job.

We got drinks after a long day of work. I’m so sad that the systems that were put in place before he came were too strenuous on him and his family. I know if I were in his position I wouldn’t be able to function. His departure is really bringing to light the amount of work one has to put into surviving at a charter school. I certainly feel it working harder this year – the two tradeoffs I get is experience and the ability to ultimately clear my credential (without having to do BTSA).

If there’s ever a line I’m not willing to cross, it’s damaging my health at my job. I used to over-work myself in the past (at point managing three jobs), and who I am hates who I’ve been in that regard. It’s time to make sure I succeed in creating a healthy balance!

In creating that healthy balance, and on a more positive note, I went with some friends for some late night dinner, and of course – the amazing Pizookies!

Once friends, always friends. It’s always pretty hilarious cracking jokes around these two – they can appreciate my humor.  IMG_1746

Stop right there. That’s exactly where I lost it.
See that line. Well I never should have crossed it.
Stop right there. Well I never should have said
That it’s the very moment that
I wish that I could take back.
