Today, I got to revisit my alma matter, UCSD. In the process of awaiting a wonderful musical production from the La Jolla Playhouse, we walked around campus for a bit and enjoyed the drinks at Tapioca Express. I’m not sure how I was able to drink such terrible boba for so long, but I’m glad my standards have changed since I left college. I didn’t necessarily miss walking up and down all the hills, but seeing everything again brought back mostly positive vibes of energy.

We saw “Up Here”, a musical about a lonely guy who has many voices in his head (mostly negative) that prevent him from having a deep relationship with his love interest. The deepest lesson from the musical was “One is not actually a number”, which I am still confused about. I’m guessing there’s no “one”, because everyone will end up with somebody else at some point, whether that be a significant other, a family member, or someone inspirational in their life.

Later, we had Phil’s BBQ. Obviously.

Then, we went back to Fullerton to watch “The Imposter” again. In seeing it for a second time, I have confirmed my suspicions that it was the family’s fault, but I again, have no proof. In the process of the whole day many conversations emerged, most notably about which friends will stay there throughout the course of my life. If they put in some minimal effort, I’ll make sure to keep them as a friend for life. If not, adios!

All my senses come to life
While I’m stumbling home as drunk as I
Have ever been and I’ll never leave again
‘Cause you are the only one
And all my friends have gone to find
Another place to let their hearts collide
Just promise me, you’ll always be a friend
‘Cause you are the only one
