Day 147: I Feel Pretty / Unpretty

Insecurity runs amuck at Cram Middle School. In the midst of ever-lasting long triangles, I had to reassure several girls today that boys should not be at the center of their universe. Giving them candy gave them a brief smile on their faces as they left my classes. Even if they are unpretty, they should never feel that way because of the way people think about them. However, it is middle school, so appearance matters quite a bit to these students – so much so that they are willing to change themselves for it. At the end of the day, they’ll just have themselves to blame.

In other news, I cooked a pretty steak today rich in calories and fat.

My outsides are cool
My insides are blue
Every time I think I’m through
It’s because of you
I’ve tried different ways
But it’s all the same
At the end of the day
I have myself to blame
I’m just trippin’
