Day 131: The Lucky One

Sometimes I feel like I’m the lucky one. I honestly should be. I set out to become a teacher, and here I am teaching. And though there were some behavioral issues (as always), and the air conditioning stopped working at the end of the day, I got to collect some of the best examples of “personal histories” as provided below. These good students and the amount of effort they put into their assignments should outweigh the negative aspects of the career (though they sometimes don’t).

Despite how funny some of these are, my co-workers are even more hilarious. I feel truly lucky to have met them and have them by my side in the history department this year. We went to my 5th (AND LAST) buffet in Vegas at the Red Rock Casino today.

Someday, they’ll tell me I’m the lucky one. As I look up at the Las Vegas lights, I can’t help but agree.

Another name goes up in lights. You wonder if you’ll make it out alive.

And they’ll tell you now, you’re the lucky one.
