I didn’t get much of a chance to really solidify my qualifications as a soccer coach today with a fourth win. I will say I COULD GUARANTEE that we would have won, had it not been for some logistic problems.
Cram went to Bonanza High School today to play Garside, since they did not have a soccer field. Unfortunately, it was already being used by the track team, who was engaging in some type of disc throwing competition. The coach on the other team informed me there was nothing to do but wait. So we waited. Unfortunately, by the time 5:15 hit, there was nothing we could do. Time was up, the referee needed to go, and our team went back on the bus.
Our final record? 3 wins (would have been 4), 2 ties, and 5 losses.
I got on the boat and just sat down. I did not rock the boat, but I was very agitated. My players seemed to have fun just messing up and horse playing on the field though, even if they didn’t get to play the sport they love.
I officially retire as soccer coach.
