If you look at American History from a wide perspective, you can truly see how far we’ve come from the founding of this country to where we are now. It’s because of influential people throughout history that have brought the country to where it is, most notably (today) being Martin Luther King Jr, and his role in shaping the Civil Rights Movement.
Nobody is perfect. The actions of Martin Luther King Jr. are inspiring because he used nonviolent protest to achieve a social progression. More youth should strive to be like him, in using the educational tools at their advantage to progress themselves forward despite socioeconomic barriers. Many don’t, and as a teacher, I find that disheartening. That’s all the more reason for people to make sure they contribute to the society they live in, whether that be through their professional, political, or community involvement. I hope to try to strike a balance among the three through teaching, political activism, and community service.
Martin Luther King Jr. said many things, and his quotes continue to inspire a generation of leaders.

We have to keep moving forward to continue to make the world we live in a truly better place.
After eating breakfast with a friend (Babystacks) and going grocery shopping (my standard Food4less unfortunately closed down), I vowed to do something meaningful today.

From my own home, I went on freerice.com for a few hours to try to change the world (FOR FREE!). You should check it out. For every question you answer 10 grains of rice are donated to the UN World Food Program.

And with that said, let’s keep moving forward, and not forget how far we’ve come along.
I believe the world is burning to the ground
Oh well I guess we’re gonna find out
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Well I believe it all is coming to an end
Oh well, I guess, we’re gonna pretend,
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
