Week 44: Henry, Earle, Michelle, & Nandhu

Another week means another chance to celebrate the best moral virtues of some of my most valued friends. This week I revisited the moral virtues of Frugality, Industry, Sincerity, and Justice.

FrugalityHenry

I spent a total of $0 this week in honor of Henry Lu, based on how good he is at spending and mostly saving his money. I miss the free food events we used to scout out for in our days at UCSD. It was rather difficult not spending money, which limited my social interactions this weekend. It’s no big deal though because I used the powers of Skype and will probably double-socialize next week as a subsequent result.

Industry and hard work are very much a part of my life as they are of Earle Tabula’s. He is able to craft the skill he has mastered in the art of computer science and use it to push his company to the brinks of success. I very much value his work ethnic and industrial demeanor, as I worked 53 hours this entire week (as well as spent the weekend studying and doing teaching related tasks at home and at Starbucks).

Finally, I needed to “live a life in balance” so to speak (also the mantra of Earl Warren college). To do so I embodied Nandhu, who is fair in listening to both sides of an issue before identifying his opinion on it. In that regard, I used fairness and equality to educate my students as well as pushed them towards learning as much information as they could in an educational setting. Last, but definitely not least, I used Michelle as a mechanism to become more sincere. Nobody is more sincere and true to the people they speak to than she is. She is truly a dime in a dozen and is able to very easily express herself and her personality through her interactions with others. I tried to be as sincere with my friends and students this week through the various ways listed above. And of course, skyping with her would allow me an easier way to see and of course imitate her sincerity in person. The end.
