Loyalty amounts to nothing more than a strong feeling of support or allegiance. In assessing my loyalties, it’s pretty straightforward to say which television shows I watch, which political candidates I support, and which foods I consume (blind allegiance to Phil’s BBQ). And though those loyalties happen to be things that can be considered trivial, I still possess other loyalties to countless friends and family members.

I reaffirmed my loyalties to several things throughout the course of the week.
1) Employment: I am very specific about the places I choose to work at, ever since my job at Popeyes (which I hated). Now employed at Fairmont Summer Programs, I am positive that the activities that we do are positive for the kids that come to partake in them. I therefore possess loyalty to Fairmont Private schools.
2) Friendship: Being loyal to the friends that are loyal back to me is a good thing. Which is why I re-connected with several of them this week in addition to finally mailing out my friendship letters. I’ll see how loyal everyone is in return as I await various confirmation emails.
3) Nostalgia: Places in the past have various arenas of loyalty in my head. From Harry’s Cafe (a diner situated very close to Rancho Alamitos High School) to Jack in the Box, places where I have surrounded myself in the past that have made me who I am I try my best to encourage myself to revisit (includes UCSD & of course, CSUF.)
Of course, at the end of the day I could have done more with loyalty this week. I didn’t “betray anyone” or anything I believed in this week. I will continue to push for political changes, continue to be friends with the people I know and support, and continue to push myself towards successfully accomplishing the goals of project morality. The end.
The End Result: C
Next Week: Respect
