On the 3-day weekend of January 15th, 2010 (Sophomore Year) I had my first ever “24 Marathon”. Turn-out wasn’t huge, but self-sustained as me and my roommates got through an entire season of 24 in one weekend. We consumed the 5th season of 24, my personal favorite.
SATURDAY JANUARY 16th
24 Day 5: 7 AM to 11 AM (4 episodes) with Howard, Michelle Song, John Torres, Leandro Corpuz, Jonathan Chou (Matt Diamond, Tyler Nelson, Jason Chow)
–> BREAK for CPK, CVS Pharmacy, Ralph’s, Von’s, Gym
24 Day 5: 11 AM – 5 PM (6 episodes): (till 7/8AM in morning) Howard, Jonathan Chou, Leandro, John Torres
The funniest thing happened while we were watching this episode (that everyone probably remembers). During the nerve gas attack in the mall scene, Howard Nguyen randomly rose up from his seat and threw up. How was that possible? Well, as you can see – with the visit to CVS Pharmacy, Ralph’s, and Von’s came the consumption of some “alcohol” during this marathon (not by me of course). As a subsequent result of Howard being so shocked by the events that transpired on the television set, his disgust was profoundly expelled in the form of vomit on the floor. John Torres helped clean it up, as we called it a night (to continue the marathon the next day).
SUNDAY JANUARY 17TH
–> Break for PHO & 24 Season Premiere (that same weekend) Day 8: 4 PM to 6 PM
Marathon Continues: 24 Day 5: 5 PM – 5 AM (12 episodes): We watched till 8 AM in the morning the events that transpired. We decided to save the best 2 episodes (the last 2 episodes) for the next day.
MONDAY JANUARY 18th
With the coming of rain came the finalization of the 24 marathon.
24 DAY 5: 5 AM – 7 PM
–> PAW Meeting
24 DAY 8: 6 PM – 8 PM
In the end, the 24-filled weekend was both exciting and fulfilling as I exposed Leandro, Howard, and John Torres to an entire season of 24. Sadly, those days are now long gone . 🙁
In my junior year I attempted another 24 marathon but we only lasted 4 episodes (with Geetha, Matt, Brett, Rashika, Ryan Nock, Tiffany Saw, Daniel Jenkins, & Brian).
