Sometimes, when I get impatient with students or angry with them, I begin questioning why I became a teacher in the first place. Then, days like these occur that make me ultimately see the light. I went into education wanting to help children learn and be happy, and having formerly worked in summer camps and after school programs, I got to relive some of that drive again in today’s Spooktacular (Rise’s Halloween carnival).
It was a fun-filled event filled with booths, games, food, prizes, face painting, a smores laboratory, and a photo booth run by Captain America (what I was dressed as today). It was great! The kids were into it, and so was I, for the most part. Here’s a few wonderful pictures from today!

There’s so much work and pressure working at a charter school, and yet there’s so much reward at the same time.
I went back to Garden Grove where I continued to see the light in seeing that family is the most important thing going for me right now. I had some dinner with my niece and nephew (PIEOLOGY), we went shopping for a bit (TARGET), and then we played some pool (BILLARDS 2000).

I actually dominated for once and won 2 games in a row. I still scratched way too much though.
And at last I see the light
And it’s like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it’s like the sky is new
And it’s warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you
