Teaching requires 150% of your energy daily. Maybe even 200% at a charter school. And though this week’s been rather difficult continuing to struggle with the future loss of an fellow employee (and good company), the administration is “attempting” to remedy the problems. Unfortunately, their solution today didn’t exactly work – in the form of an open circle / council, where the problems didn’t publicly get addressed.
I just hope at the end of the day the legacies teachers leave behind at Rise aren’t forgotten, and that their name lives on (and we remember them accordingly). I’ve been showing “Liberty Kids” in my US History class lately, and so far the kids “kind of” enjoy it enough to pay attention.
This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name
