It is Michelle Branch week here at johnletran.com. I think of her more as a poor man’s Vanessa Carlton, but her music has stuck with me since her debut, rise to fall, and eventually fall to normalcy after her switch to country music.
I was literally everywhere today (not really). But after waking up in Garden Grove I will fall asleep (hopefully peacefully) in Los Angeles TONIGHT.
It was a blazing 100 degrees and so the only way to alleviate the pain was through drinks (Roasting Water), and air conditioning (Regals Cinema).

Regals completely redesigned their theaters making their seats now reclinable. It didn’t help that I ended up watching the Scorch Trials, which nearly put me to sleep and was disappointing in every aspect of the definition.

Eventually we went to Wal*Mart and Stater Brothers to meal prep for the following week. It’s a short 4-day week for me followed by one day of professional development….
Thanks to the Reddit Gift Exchange for teachers, which supplied me three packs of colored pencils! There truly are great people everywhere. They’ll always light my way, and I’ll feel their generosity everywhere I go.

And when I touch your hand
It’s then I understand
The beauty that’s within
It’s now that we begin
You always light my way
I hope there never comes a day
No matter where I go
I always feel you so
