It’s my 12th Back to School Night. Pretty low attendance, despite offering extra credit in my regular classes. I guess by the time they get to high school, parents really stop caring about their children.
Come to think about it, my parents really stopped coming to my Back to School Nights by high school as well. I was pretty self-sufficient and self-motivated by that point anyway.
It was more of the traditional format, where we delivered 10 minute lessons to each “class period”. It’s better this way in my opinion because my parents get to see more of my teaching persona (and my humor) infused in the lesson – as I show them their Pokemon points. As well as quiz them on the presentation at the end, including the very required question of how many times I have gone to Phil’s BBQ (226).
A student also came to visit me from Dale Junior High. So random.
It’ll be 27-28 more back to school nights I suppose till retirement.
