The O.C. Fair has now become a tradition in the Tran family household, and surprisingly enough, all 3 times somehow the tickets have been free.
In 2019, Katherine and I had one of our first dates ever at the OC Fair. It was a beautiful occassion, as I failed to win her a stuffed animal and simultaneously failed to kiss her on the ferris wheel that same night. Luckily I was able to sabotage and delay the ending of the night by “pretending” to not know where we parked.
In 2022, Katherine and I went again – this time as an engaged couple. With of course one of my siblings (currently ranked as my #1 sister out of all 4 of them). It was a grand old time, but we were missing something – a family of our own.
That of course brings us to 2025, where we had the magic of bringing Kai along with us. It was pretty difficult seeing him get fussy in the summer heat. However, he was pretty well behaved overall and enjoyed the areas with air conditioning of course. Props to him surviving his first time out and about (outside of just going to a restaurant).
Seeing that we’ve now gone every 3 years for the past 6 years or so, the goal will be to take him now in 2028 for a new picture and a new adventure when he gets to actually enjoy walking around with us.
