Had a truly fake friendsgiving together today. Not because the people were fake necessarily.
A friendsgiving is only real if it a) occurs at somebody’s house and b) includes a potluck of some sort of different combinations of food.
Instead, we opted to eat at Kobe Gyukatsu. The food was meh, but the company elevated the overall experience, despite it taking place on a Sunday, the standard rest day for a teacher.
I’m hopeful as the years progress we will continue to have meetups (that don’t occur on a Sunday). It’ll be nice to go to each other’s upcoming weddings, and eventually have our future children hang out with one another, and perhaps even marry one another.
One can only hope. One can only dream. Until then, we’ll continue to have fake friendsgiving adventures for the years to come.
