My endurance and patience were truly put to the test today as we went to Chinatown, Los Angeles for some holiday shopping.
I thought Katherine’s endurance was powerful while shopping, but it turns out her aunt/uncle, and mother happen to have even more tremendous stamina. They shopped non-stop for 4 and a half hours, buying inexpensive clothing in the indoor swapmeet area of Chinatown. I was mostly bored during the entire process, my stomach grumbling the entire way due to having skipped breakfast.
Chinatown in my opinion is only good for Howling Ray’s, which of course we didn’t go to. The smell of homelessness and sewage was off-putting, not to mention having to deal with crazy Los Angeles drivers. They are a different breed.
As a future lifelong shopper due to being married to Katherine, the best stores happen to be ones that happen to have indoor seating furniture of some sort (for me to rest on), or a local food-court nearby, like an indoor or outdoor mall. Though I can appreciate Chinatown for its cultural significance, it will never be my one choice to explore the purchase of consumer goods.
