My high school friendships are important to me, even if we’ve drifted apart over the years due to a combination of distance, timing, and other factors.
Timothy Mai was one of my greatest friends. He would have definitely been a groomsmen had he not personally requested to not be involved due to distance and the amount of work involved. I remember him driving down the weekend from San Jose to Garbage Grove after one of my breakups just to spend time together to help me heal. For that I will always be grateful.
Earle Tabula was my computer technician, and always continues to be a source of help whenever I have any technical difficulties. I’ll always remember him picking me from San Diego, getting Phil’s BBQ, and driving me back to Orange County. He would also drive me back to San Diego and get more Phil’s BBQ with me before going home. A true dedicated friendship, and he is the perfect encapsulation of an entrepreneur. This very website’s server is hosted and paid by him.
Vu Trinh is super hard-working and continues to work excessive amounts of hours as a pharmacy technician. I’ll always remember him taking the fall in AP Euro even though another student copied his work. Though he didn’t actually go to high school with us, I’ll remember all the post-high school adventures we had which included: boba, drinking, and moving heavy furniture.
Triet Nguyen is the quietest of the group, but by far one of the most loyal. He doesn’t speak much, but makes sure to choose his words wisely whenever he needs to. Despite being allergic to alcohol, he still drank with many times and had many adventures with us in our youth.
I’ll always be eternally grateful for the all the memories we’ve made in the past, and I’m hoping we can reunite again soon for even more exciting adventures. I’m rooting for all of them to get married someday.
