Kaju is my favorite Korean tofu restaurant. It is vastly superior to BCD Tofu house. The broth is much more flavorful. I’ve been there 90 times in my life. Since meeting Katherine we have embedded it into our rotational dining schedule, going there 27 times together. It’s delicious when the weather is cold. It doesn’t stop me from eating it in the summer either when the weather is extremely hot (I’ve gone in 100+ degree temperatures). The service there can be a little polarizing, but I guess that’s the kind of service you should expect at an Asian restaurant (subpar).
My favorite side dishes are the spicy cucumbers and the bean sprouts. Katherine likes the fish cake. I usually rotate between ordering the vegetable dumping or the vegetable tofu whenever I go there with the spice level of “spicy”. Needless to say, as long as we’re staying in Garbage Grove, this will be an essential component of our diet in all the seasons, and for the years to come. Till death do we part. Phil’s is still better though.
